After
working with Yuvan Shankar Raja and GV Prakash in his previous two
films, director Bala is going back to Ilaiyaraaja for the music of his
next film, which has actordirector Sasikumar in the lead. What is
interesting is that the composer has already finished recording the
songs for this film.
The maestro has recorded 12 songs in six days for the film, the shoot
of which is expected to start on March 1. Apparently, the recording
sessions were lengthy affairs, going from 7 am in the morning to well
beyond midnight (1 am)! People close to the composer remark that they
are thrilled seeing the veteran working at such a furious pace,
especially after his recent health scare.
Says a source in the
unit, “Raaja sir recorded all the songs using a live orchestra.
Moreover, since folk dance is an integral part of the film, he has used
folk musicians who are not associated with the film industry. All the
singers and the lyricists for this project are traditional musicians who
have not worked in films earlier.”
