 Finally Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Jilla' has been confirmed to lock horns with Thala Ajith's 'Veeram' at the box office from January 10 for Pongal. The last time the two stars' films hit screens together was in 2007, when Vijay's Pokkiri and Ajith's Alwar released.While Ajith's Veeram was announced as a Pongal release earlier, today's paper ads confirmed Jilla's release after the movie for censored with a clean 'U' certificicate a few days ago.

The two stars, who have a huge fan base, have clashed before at the box office too — if Bhagavathi and Villain hit screens in 2002, Thirumalai and Anjaneya released in 2003, and Aadhi and Paramasivam in 2006.

Jilla starring Vijay, Mohanlal, Kajal Agarwal and Mahat Ragavendra is directed by Neason. Also the film having music by D Imman would be releasing in Barco's Auro 3D 11.1 sound. Ajith's Veeram directed by Siruthai Siva, has Tamanaah pairing up with him.

Varun woos Ileana and Nargis: Varun Dhawan will unleash his boyish charm on Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri in Main Tera Hero. And if that's not enough, there's also Evelyn Sharma vying for his attention in the campus rom-com.

Akshay charms Tamannaah, Shruti: Khiladi Kumar, who is always open to working with a fresh face, will be seen for the first time with Southern imports Tamannaah and Shruti Haasan in It's Entertainment and Gabbar, respectively.

Shahid, Shraddha's complex love story: In Haider, Shahid Kapoor plays the desi Hamlet, while Shraddha Kapoor portrays his Ophelia. In keeping with Shakespeare's play, theirs isn't a smooth-sailing love story but Vishal Bhardwaj's screen pairing is definitely interesting.

Ranbir, Anushka's period love story: Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma are paired together for the first time in Bombay Velvet. The story, which spans from 1950s to the late 90s, sees him play a streetfighter while she essays dual characters, one of which is a jazz singer.

Farhan will get to romance Vidya, Kareena and Priyanka: Farhan Akhtar will be spoilt for choice this year. His leading ladies include Vidya Balan (Shaadi Ke Side Effects), Kareena Kapoor Khan (Bombay Samurai) and Priyanka Chopra in his sister Zoya Akhtar's next film.

Arjun's leading ladies are Deepika, Alia and Sonakshi: Arjun Kapoor has an interesting line-up of women in his films. While he teams up with Deepika Padukone for the first time in Finding Fanny, he will romance Alia Bhatt in 2 States. Later, he'll be romancing Sonakshi, when he's not taking on the corrupt villains, in the remake of the Telugu hit Dookudu.

Actor Arya, who is currently busy shooting for 'Purampokku' and 'Meagaamann', says he prefers setting short-term goals over long-term resolutions. "It's better to have short-term goals because they are usually achievable. I don't believe in New Year resolutions...one can easily get distracted or leave it midway," said Arya.

With two back-to-back blockbusters 'Raja Rani' and 'Arrambam' in 2013, he hopes for a successful 2014. "This year, I'm doing films with directors I haven't worked with earlier. Therefore, it is going to be interesting. I will just continue working as hard as ever and I guess everything else will fall in place automatically," he added.

Arya will begin the New Year by playing football with his friends. "I'm not much of a party guy. I like to start my year with some physical activity. I usually play football with my friends on the first day of the year. I plan to do that this year too. I think it will keep me active and I hope be like that throughout the year," he said.

The latest buzz is that UTV has acquired the first copy of Suriya starrer untitled flick directed by Lingusamy. Samantha plays Suriya's lead pair in this film and it is touted to hit the screens during mid-2014. The first look of it will be revealed on January 14th, 2014 to coincide with the Pongal festival.

Produced by Lingusamy's home banner, Tirupati Brothers, this film went on floors in November 2013. The film is said to be romantic story with the star pairing up with Samantha and the music would be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The expectations on this combination is high as Suriya and Lingusamy are teaming up for the first time.
