Actress
Haripriya admits to having strong reservations about the prospect of
having to dance around in a lungi in her upcoming film, Galata. However,
the actress set aside her inhibitions and decided to give it a shot
after director Krishna persuaded her that it would work.
“I had
some doubts initially as the prospect of wearing a lungi did terrify me.
It isn’t the most glamorous of outfits and it was my introduction song
in the movie. But after listening to director Krishna’s narration of the
song, I was convinced. Choreographer Swarna came up with some
outrageous dance moves and I enjoyed doing it,” says Haripriya, who is
paired opposite Sri in the movie.
The Bangalore-based actress is playing a tomboyish character in the movie. “I play a free spirited college student, Andal in the film. She has a mind of her own and lives by her rules. It’s a very whacked out character,” she says. Meanwhile, the Muran girl has Vaaraayo Vennilaave with Atta Kathi Dinesh gearing up for release in Kollywood.
