Jamie Foxx to play Mike Tyson in biopic

Jamie Foxx has found himself a new heavyweight role.The Oscar-winning "Django Unchained" star has signed on to portray Mike Tyson in an upcoming biopic about the notorious boxing figure.

The involvement of Foxx is a positive development as well. He also has experience working on boxing biopics and the actor is no stranger to sports movies, having played Muhammed Ali’s corner man Dwight “Bundini” Brown in Michael Mann’s Ali and star quarterback Willie Beamen in Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday. Foxx had played a famous figure before and won a best actor Academy Award and Oscar for his portrayal of classic musician Ray Charles in 2004's Ray, Foxx has also illustrated that he can embody a celebrity when he dedicates himself to the part.
