superstar Mohanlal kickstarted his career in 1980 as a villain in
Manjil Virinja Pookal and subsequently went on to do antihero roles in
movies like Ente Mohangal Poovaniju, Engane Nee Marakkum,
Sreekrishnaparunthu and Attakalasham among others. And now, after over
25 plus years, we hear that the actor is back as an anti-hero in Srinath
Rajendran’s Koothara, and that too, in a never-seen avatar. Anoop Marikar, the movie’s executive producer, says Mohanlal plays a fisherman living along a coastal area. He will have negative shades in his character. “It is not the typical villainous role with fight sequences, but that of an anti-hero. His character brings about a twist in the story and thus takes it to the next level,” says Anoop.
Mohanlal will be seen as a dishevelled old man in the campus thriller. His new look was a hot topic of discussion among his fans, with the pictures being liked and shared several times.
Koothara, scripted by Vini Vishwalal, also stars Ranjini, Sunny Wayne, Bharat, Tovino Thomas, Janani Iyer, Gauthami Nair and Sritha Sivadas in prominent roles..
