Will Smith not to star in Independence Day sequel

Will Smith wouldn’t be featuring in the upcoming sequel of Independence Day, it has been revealed. The Men In Black actor has reportedly informed the studio that he won’t be joining in on the sequel, a website reported.
The director Roland Emmerich and cowriter and producer Dean Devlin of the 1996 hit film have created two distinctly different versions of the film, as writer James Vanderbilt has been working on two separate scripts. TOI
