Mika
Singh was in Delhi recently for an upcoming show, Mission Sapne, which
will air on Colors. As part of the show’s promotions, the singer made
chai for the residents of Tilak Nagar. For Mika, the idea was to help
Lakhendra Paswan, a tea stall owner, to earn his day’s income. Charging
100/cup, Mika said to the fans, who requested him to sing, “Ji gaana
suna doonga, par gaane ke bhi paise lagenge.” The fee for a song ranged
from 10-100.
Schoolkids flocked Mika’s stall to get his autograph. “Sabhi khoonkhae aur gussewale log thay wahan; main khud purani Dilli se hoon, is liye maine sambhal lia. Bahut joshile fans thay, par main bhi joshila hoon. Warna main guarantee deta hoon – iss area mein shooting nahi ho sakti,” said Mika.
“Mikaji ne chai mein cheeni bilkul theek dali thi. Bahut mazaa
aaya unse milkar,” said Bulwinder Singh, one of Mika’s fans-cumcustomers.
