Meena or Nadia for Kamal Haasan in Drishyam remake?

It was earlier reported that Kamal Haasan will reprise Mohanlal’s role in the Tamil remake of the blockbuster Malayalam movie Drishyam. Now, the latest from the camp is that Meena, who starred as Mohanlal’s wife in the original, is not likely to be part of the remake, as Kamal doesn’t want to be paired with her. 

    However, a source close to the actor tells us that Kamal has not made such a statement. “These are baseless rumours. In fact, Meena and Nadia Moidu are under consideration for the role,” says the source and adds, “Kamal sir has shared screen space with almost all the actresses in South India except Nadia Moidu. That is the reason why we thought of roping her in,” says the source. 

    Apparently, Meena is confirmed for the Telugu remake of Drishyam, which stars Daggubati Venkatesh in the lead. “In Telugu, Meena will reprise the role from the original and Nadia will play the role of IG, donned by Asha Sarath in the original,” the source says. 

    This is not the first time that Meena is sharing screen space with Venkatesh. The duo’s earlier outings were blockbuster hits.The shoot for the Tamil version directed by Jeethu Joseph is likely to start in June.TOI
